This Town of Books, as Damme is also called, is 5 km from medieval Bruges and 12 km from Knokke and Blankenberge, two of the nicest resorts at the seaside of Belgium. Along the "Damse Vaart" or in the landscapes surrounding Bruges you can make the most wonderful cycling and walking tours and you can also easily cross the border to visit the Dutch city of Sluis.
